10th KEMRI Annual Scientific and Health (KASH) Conference
The 10th KEMRI Annual Scientific and Health (KASH) Conference was held from 12th February to 14th February 2020, at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi. The theme for the conference was ‘Towards Sustainable Universal Health Coverage in Kenya: Utilization of research evidence through multi-sectoral collaboration’. Kenya FELTP was represented at the conference by one member of the faculty, Dr. Maurice Owiny (Scientific Writer), 14 residents from the Intermediate tier and 8 residents from the Advanced tier. IMPACT program was also represented by 2 fellows, each from the Cohort 2 and cohort 3 Master’s Programme.
A total of 23 abstracts were accepted for oral presentation and one for poster presentation. The presentations were well received by the audiences and the responses to questions were satisfactory. The quality of presentations made by the KFELTP was very good which made the team win nine awards at the conference.
