Between the March and May 2024, the country experienced severe flooding resulting in significant structural damage to houses and displacement of animals and residents. The Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were relocated to several camps, where they faced challenges such as overcrowding, inadequate sanitation facilities, overwhelmed healthcare facilities, and limited access to clean water. The leading county among those significantly affected was Nairobi County.
