Dissemination of the results of Rapid Assessment of Antimicrobial Resistance in Nairobi and adjacent districts in Kenya
Three residents: Fredrick Odhiambo, Onesmus Muchemi and Jacqlyne Kanyina took part in an exercise to disseminate results from a Rapid Assessment of Antimicrobial Resistance in Nairobi and adjacent districts in Kenya which took place in February 2013. The results were presented on 4 June 2013 to the Ministry of Health, National public Health Labs, CDC and to laboratory in charge personnel of the facilities where the assessment was done. This team came up with action points as informed by this assessment and developed a working group that will initiate discussion around antimicrobial resistance and also champion standardization of culture practices in Kenya. The working group included: representatives from FELTP Kenya, National Public Health Labs, US Centres of Disease Control and prevention, Kenya and Division of Disease surveillance and Response.
