James Marcomic, a cohort 18 Advanced Epidemiology Level resident at Kenya FELTP, has recently received the Biosafety Heroes Award 2022. Before his admission to Kenya FELTP training program, he was the County Senior Medical Laboratory Officer in Turkana County. He emerged as one of the 2 outstanding individuals who, through recognition by an international panel of their peers, were awarded the distinction of being named International Federation of Biosafety Associations (IFBA) 2022 Biosafety Heroes.

The IFBA’s Biosafety Heroes program identifies and celebrates extraordinary individuals who make significant contributions to help others in the field of biorisk management. Biosafety Heroes serve as role models, showing others that everyone is important in the global fight against infectious diseases.
